If your company is exporting pre-packages with the e-mark to Europe and your European importer is responsible for the quantity of product in the pre-packages you are producing, how can you guarantee that your products are packed in accordance with the e-mark regulations?
1. NMi evaluates the system that you use for filling prepackages. If your system complies with the e-mark requirements then you receive a Certificate of Recognition.
Your importer in Europe receives an accreditation from us, which includes a reference to the Certificate of Recognition for your packaging system.
Every year, NMI checks whether your system still satisfies the requirements.
2. Your importer in the EU does spot checks on the imported batches, in accordance with the Dutch law for food, health and safety. Based on the results of this sample, the importer judges whether the batch complies with the e-mark regulations.
To use this method, your importer must have an e-mark accreditation.
