Many European countries import products with an e-mark from countries outside the EU. To check whether the packages actually comply with the e-mark requirements you, as the importer, have two options:
1. You (the importer) inspect a random sample from the imported batches in accordance with the specifications of the Commodities Act. Based on the result you judge whether the batch complies with the e-mark regulations.
2. NMi evaluates the quality system of the non-EU packager. If their system satisfies the requirements, then the packager in question receives a Certificate of Recognition. NMi inspects the system annually.
You (the importer) receive an accreditation from us, which includes a reference to the packager’s Certificate of Recognition.
