Know what you have to do!
The introduction of the Metrology Act has brought about changes for affixing markings by authorised calibrators. Below is a description of the changes and the consequences for your activities.
The adjustments apply to all regulated measuring instruments taken into use for a regulated measuring task as described in the Metrology Act. In practice, it applies to companies or persons who conducted "re-inspection" (section 11) and "testing" (section 16) during the time of the Calibration Act.
The introduction of the Measuring instruments decrees I and II (29 November 2006) means that you must always affix the full marking after the evaluation as referred to in section 7 of the Metrology Act, consisting of both your reference and the approval mark (year in box, see illustrations below). This applies both for the authorised calibrator during the transitional period and for the Certified Inspector in future.
