Since the coming into force of the measuring instruments directive (MID) in October 2006 one approval enables you to sell your product in all EU and EFTA countries. This means you need only one approval, which will be valid in 30 European countries. Trade barriers have been diminished and one approval process is sufficient.
One legislation, more options
You will have a number of possibilities to choose from and our well-
trained staff can be your guide through all this new legislation.
Legislation for as each country where the MID is introduced has implemented the Directive in their national law.
Notified Body
Notified Bodies, appointed by the national governments, will take care of the testing and certification of your instruments or your quality and production processes. NMi is such a Notified Body, with over 17 years of experience with another European Metrology Directive, namely the directive for non-automatic weighing instruments.
NMi can help you make your choice
Because the MID offers you different options you will have to make a choice for which module in the MID you would like to apply at some point. We have designed a tool, with which our account managers can help you make your decision which module(s) is/are most suitable to you.
Training on MID
NMi developed a special training for you on MID. During this one day training on your premises, we can give your employees an introduction on the backgrounds and possibilities within the measuring instruments directive.
Please ask for our NMi Trainings product flyer for more information on this topic.
