Type examination
In the interests of road safety, the brakes on cars and trucks must satisfy the statutory requirements. To check whether a vehicle complies with these safety standards, the brakes on cars and trucks are tested during the MOT on a brake test bench.
On a roller brake test bench a load cell measures the force exerted by a braking vehicle on a set of rotating rollers under the wheels of the vehicle. On a plate brake test bench a load cell measures the force exerted by a braking vehicle on a plate over which the vehicle drives.
NMi tests and certifies roller brake test benches and plate brake test benches in accordance with the statutory requirements for MOT measurement instruments. If your brake test bench satisfies the requirements, then you receive a Dutch type approval certificate and, on request, the complete test report from us.
You can come to us too, for type examination of the modules used in both types of brake test benches, such as load cells, indicators, roller sets, manometers and pedal force meters. If you wish you can receive a separate test certificate for each different module.
For further information about the type examination of brake test benches or their modules, please contact NMi Certin’s Sales department on telephone number +31 78 633 2308.
