Automatic weighing instruments are weighing instruments which require no external operation to perform a weight measurement. In most European countries, including the Netherlands, weighing instruments may only be placed on the market if they satisfy the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID).
Type examination
The relevant OIML recommendations to prove conformity to the requirements are mentioned in the table below. NMi has all the facilities and expertise to test and certify your weighing instrument in accordance with these recommendations.
Result
If your weighing instrument satisfies the statutory requirements, you receive the MID EC Type approval documents, an OIML Certificate of Conformity and the complete OIML test report. Most other countries in the world accept the OIML certificate for automatic weighing instruments. Some countries specify additional requirements. NMi knows the regulations in many countries and knows exactly which tests are required for your weighing instrument.
