From the 1st of July 2004, new carbon dioxide index regulations apply to co-generation units in the Netherlands. Based on these new regulations, you can receive a subsidy for the carbon dioxide neutral section of your energy generation system.

To determine whether you are eligible for this subsidy, you must be able to specify how much energy is flowing into and out of your co-generation unit. The requirements which must be satisfied by the measurement equipment performing these measurements in your co-generation unit, are specified in the carbon dioxide index regulations.

NMi has all the facilities and expertise to certify the measurement equipment for your co-generation unit, in accordance with the requirements specified in the carbon dioxide index regulation. In addition, we can give you advice about setting up a measurement protocol in your co-generation unit, and about setting up a suitable administration system for the measurement results.

NMi has many years of experience in testing and certifying measurement instruments for the energy market. Due to our intensive contacts with the government, we know exactly which requirements your co-generation unit must satisfy to comply with the new subsidy scheme, and exactly which tests must be performed.

An important component of the carbon dioxide index regulations is the requirement that you are able to specify how accurate your measurement system is. NMi can help you compose a well-substantiated uncertainty analysis for the measurement equipment in question.
