Revision of the IEC norms for electricity meters

Revision of IEC norms 62052 and 62053 series

The International Electrotechnical Commission, better known as IEC, is the world’s leading organization for the preparation and publication of International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies. The IEC’s TCs (Technical Committees) and WGs (Working Groups) meet regularly, bringing experts in electrotechnology together to carry out the standards work of the IEC.

IEC norms

The well known norms for electricity meters, the IEC 62052 and IEC 62053 series, are currently under revision in IEC TC13 WG 11. The norms will be modernized. NMi contributes substantially to this by bringing its expertise into the Working Group. It is expected that the first draft versions will be published within a few months for comments from the national committees.

If customers want to know precisely which changes are to be expected, they can ask for a customized training from our Business Development Manager Utilities, member of IEC TC13 WG 11, Mr Henri Schouten: hschouten@nmi.nl
