Market access to Australia for electricity meters

Manufacturers of electricity meters who want to access Australia need to certify their meters according to the Australian M 6-1 norm. Our regular customers know that the relationship between NMi the Netherlands and the Australian national measurement institute is strong. We are able to test against the required M6-1 norm, while our test reports are accepted in Australia. The basis for agreement has recently been made even stronger. We have obtained an ISO 17025 accreditation for the M 6-1 standard, showing the technical competence within our lab.

This is a win-win situation for manufacturers with worldwide export plans. Many of them are interested in the Australian market. At NMi in the Netherlands, we combine the Australian test requirements with the regular IEC tests. As a result, you can obtain market access to a large part of the world, Australia included at the same time. This solution is much more time- and cost effective than having to do additional M 6-1 testing at a later stage.
