The Netherlands is a leader when it comes to the development and application of traffic measuring instruments. NMi test results are accepted as a basis for approval by many foreign governments, including those of Belgium, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. We are aware of the additional tests or requirements in many other countries, which we can incorporate in your project plan at the outset.
Are you interested in marketing your measuring instrument in other countries? If so, NMi can support you by advising the body concerned or sharing knowledge, improving understanding of the reports. Acceptance of NMi test reports is thus steadily growing in Western and Eastern Europe as well as in Asia and the Middle East.
Taximeters and exhaust gas analysers can be tested according to the European Union MID regulations. Many police measuring instruments are subject to the legislation and standards applicable in the country concerned. Thanks to the broad perspective of Dutch legislation and the many years of experience with the testing and certification of enforcement measuring instruments, Dutch requirements often form the basis for acceptance in other countries.
Where possible we can also use internationally accepted OIML recommendations or EN standards. The requirements and standards concerned can be seen in the overview. We will be delighted to tell you about an efficient approval process for your product.
