Environmental requirements aimed at minimising emissions and pollutants are becoming more stringent. If you cause emissions, you must apply for a tradable emission permit (emission allowance). The requirements are stipulated in European Directive 2003/87/EC.
Calculating emissions, including the maximum measurement uncertainty, is an important part of the permit application. The calculation is based on all the products that enter and leave again. A variety of measurements are often part of your routine process operation that can serve as a basis for the emission calculation. As an independent party, NMi uses available documents, calibration certificates and even a site visit to prepare the calculations. This considerably speeds up the permit application.
Granting the permit
In the Netherlands, the emission allowance permit is issued by the Netherlands Emissions Authority (Nederlandse Emissieautoriteit – NEa). Thanks to our knowledge of the standard relating to making the emissions measurable, we are familiar with the requirements to be met. This guarantees a rapid process and a prompt permit. We have already performed the calculations and prepared an application for several parties.
